New Asphalt Paving & Construction

Full-service asphalt paving for commercial parking lots, roads, driveways, and industrial facilities throughout Los Angeles County, Orange County, and all of Southern California

A new asphalt pavement is one of the most significant infrastructure investments a property owner or manager makes. Done right, it will serve your property for decades. Done poorly, it can fail within a few years, leading to costly repairs and reconstruction. At Meyers Paving, we build asphalt surfaces that last — from the subgrade preparation to the final rolled mat — for commercial properties, industrial facilities, municipalities, and communities across Southern California.

Whether you need a brand-new parking lot built from raw earth, a complete demo-and-repave of a failed existing surface, or new access roads for a commercial development, our team has the equipment, certifications, and experience to deliver. We handle everything from the initial site survey through grading, base installation, asphalt paving, and final striping — making Meyers Paving your single-source contractor for new asphalt construction.

Paving Services We Offer

New Parking Lot Construction

Full-build new asphalt parking lots from raw ground — including grading, base compaction, and hot-mix asphalt installation designed for your traffic loads.

Demolition & Repaving

Complete removal of deteriorated or failed asphalt down to the base, followed by base rehabilitation and full-depth new asphalt paving.

Commercial Driveway Paving

New and replacement driveways for commercial properties, warehouses, industrial facilities, and multi-family housing developments.

Road & Street Paving

Private road construction and paving for commercial campuses, HOA communities, industrial parks, and municipal subcontract work.

Asphalt Overlay & Resurfacing

New asphalt surface applied over existing structurally sound pavement — restoring grade, smoothness, and appearance without full demolition.

Grading & Drainage Integration

Proper slope and drainage engineering built into every new paving project to prevent water ponding and premature pavement failure.

Demo & Repaving: Starting Fresh

When a parking lot or road has reached the end of its functional life — when cracks are widespread, the surface is unstable, or water has saturated and compromised the base — an overlay is not enough. Full demolition and repaving is the correct solution. We saw-cut and remove the existing asphalt, haul the debris off-site for recycling, inspect and rehabilitate the base, and install a new full-depth pavement section engineered for the expected loads and conditions.

The demolition and repave process gives your property essentially a brand-new parking lot. It resolves underlying drainage and base failures that overlays cannot fix, and it eliminates the patchwork appearance of a lot that has been repeatedly repaired. When properly maintained from day one, a freshly paved lot in Southern California should deliver 20–30 years of service life.

When to Demo & Repave vs. Overlay

  • →Demo & Repave when base failure is present, alligator cracking covers more than 30% of the surface, or the lot has settled unevenly
  • →Overlay when the existing pavement is structurally sound but the surface has aged, oxidized, or cracked at the surface level only
  • →New Construction when paving on raw earth or gravel areas that have never had a formal asphalt surface

Our Paving Process

Quality asphalt paving is a multi-stage process. Each step builds on the last — skip one, and the finished pavement pays the price. Here's how we build:

1

Site Evaluation & Design

We assess existing conditions, soil bearing capacity, traffic loads, and drainage patterns to design a pavement section that meets your specific needs and budget.

2

Demolition & Removal

Existing failed asphalt is saw-cut and removed. Debris is hauled off-site and recycled. The work area is cleared and prepared for base work.

3

Subgrade & Base Preparation

The subgrade is graded, compacted, and inspected. Class II aggregate base is placed and compacted to the specified depth to create a stable foundation.

4

Hot-Mix Asphalt Installation

Certified hot-mix asphalt is delivered from a licensed plant and spread using paving machines for consistent mat thickness and uniform texture.

5

Compaction & Rolling

Steel drum and pneumatic rollers achieve target density. Proper compaction is critical to long-term performance and resistance to rutting.

6

Final Grade & Quality Inspection

Finished surface is checked for grade, cross-slope, smoothness, and compaction density before the site is returned to service.

Why New Paving Matters

Full-Depth Construction

New paving starts from the ground up — base, subbase, and asphalt layers all engineered together for maximum longevity.

Engineered for Load

Pavement section thickness is selected for your traffic — light passenger cars versus heavy trucks require very different designs.

Drainage by Design

New lots are graded to drain correctly from day one. Proper slope prevents the water intrusion that destroys pavement from below.

Long Service Life

A properly built asphalt parking lot or road in Southern California typically lasts 20–30 years with routine maintenance.

Southern California Asphalt Paving Experts

Southern California's climate creates unique paving conditions. Intense UV exposure oxidizes and dries asphalt faster than in most other regions. Heavy traffic from commercial and industrial use demands thicker, better-compacted pavement sections. Seasonal heat cycles require mixes designed for temperature stability. Our team understands these conditions and specifies materials and methods appropriate for the environment where your pavement will serve.

Meyers Paving provides new asphalt paving services throughout Los Angeles County, Orange County, the Inland Empire, San Diego County, and Ventura County. From Los Angeles and Long Beach to Irvine, Pasadena, and beyond — we bring the same standards and crew quality to every project we build.
