Our Story

Built on Hard Work & Reputation

From a single crew and a handshake to one of Southern California's most relied-upon commercial paving contractors.

Where We Started

Meyers Paving didn't start in a boardroom or with outside investors. It started the way most lasting companies do — with one person who knew the trade inside and out, a truck, and the willingness to outwork anyone on the job site. The early years were spent building relationships one parking lot at a time: showing up early, finishing clean, and never cutting corners on materials.

Those first clients were small commercial properties — strip malls, church parking lots, local businesses that needed someone they could trust. Word traveled. Property managers started calling. Then facility directors. Then general contractors working government projects. Each job added to a track record that spoke for itself.

Over time, what started as a small operation grew into a full-service commercial paving company with the equipment, the crew depth, and the project management capability to handle large-scale work — without ever losing the responsiveness and personal accountability that built the business in the first place.

Government & Public Agency Work

A turning point for Meyers Paving came when we began working with public agencies. Government work demands a level of documentation, compliance, and precision that separates serious contractors from everyone else. We welcomed it. The standards aligned with how we already operated — detailed scope, proper materials, adherence to specifications, and thorough communication at every phase.

Over the years, we've completed projects for Caltrans, municipal public works departments, county facilities, school districts, and state-owned properties across Southern California. These contracts required prevailing wage compliance, traffic control planning, ADA conformance to current standards, and coordination with inspectors and engineers. We've maintained clean records on every public project we've touched.

Working at this level taught us discipline that carries into every private-sector project we take on. When a property manager hires Meyers Paving for a retail center or warehouse lot, they're getting a contractor who operates at a public-agency standard of documentation and execution — whether the project requires it or not.

HOAs & Property Management

Some of our longest-running relationships are with homeowner associations and the management companies that oversee them. We understand the unique dynamics of HOA work — the board approvals, the resident communication requirements, the phased scheduling that keeps communities accessible during construction, and the budget realities that require smart prioritization across multi-year maintenance plans.

We've worked with dozens of HOA communities across Los Angeles County, Orange County, and Ventura County — from small 50-unit townhome complexes to large master-planned communities with miles of internal roads, guest parking areas, and common driveways. Many of these associations have worked with us continuously for years, scheduling annual sealcoat rotations, crack repair campaigns, and eventual overlay projects as their pavement ages through its lifecycle.

Property management companies like us because we make their job easier. We provide clear proposals that boards can approve without confusion, we communicate timelines that residents can plan around, we show up when we say we will, and we leave the property cleaner than we found it. That consistency is why management firms bring us into new communities in their portfolio without re-bidding.

National Retailers & Commercial Properties

Our commercial portfolio includes work for some of the most recognized brands in the country — Walmart, Costco, Tesla, Electrify America, and Hobby Lobby among them. These companies don't hire contractors casually. Vendor approval processes are rigorous, insurance requirements are significant, and quality expectations are non-negotiable. We've met every threshold and delivered on every project.

Retail properties present their own challenges. Work often needs to happen at night or in carefully staged sections to avoid disrupting customer traffic and revenue. We've developed expertise in phased mobilization — completing work in segments that allow stores to remain fully operational throughout the project. Our crews are experienced in nighttime operations and can execute complex scope under lighting with the same precision as daytime work.

Beyond the national names, we serve a broad base of commercial properties: medical office buildings, industrial warehouse parks, distribution centers, auto dealerships, restaurant groups, and multi-tenant office complexes. The common thread is the same — these property owners and managers need a paving contractor who understands that their parking lot is a business asset, not just a slab of asphalt.

What Drives Our Work

Accountability

We own our work. If something isn't right, we fix it. No excuses, no finger-pointing, no disappearing after the check clears.

Relationships First

We'd rather keep a client for 20 years than squeeze extra margin out of a single project. That mindset shapes every decision.

Craft Over Speed

We work efficiently, but never at the expense of quality. Proper prep, correct application rates, and clean edges every time.

Property Understanding

We think like property managers. We understand budgets, tenant concerns, ADA liability, and the real cost of deferred maintenance.

Long-Term Thinking

We recommend what your pavement actually needs — not what generates the biggest invoice. Sometimes that means suggesting a repair instead of a replacement.

Crew Stability

Our crews aren't day-labor rotations. They're experienced professionals who take pride in the work and know our standards cold.

The Bottom Line

We've been doing this a long time. Long enough to have seen companies come and go. Long enough to know that the contractors who last are the ones who do honest work, communicate clearly, and treat every property like their reputation depends on it — because it does.

If you're a property manager, facilities director, HOA board member, or commercial property owner looking for a paving contractor you won't have to babysit, we'd welcome the conversation. We're happy to walk your property, discuss what we see, and give you a straight answer about what needs attention now, what can wait, and what it'll cost.

No pressure. No inflated scope. Just an honest assessment from a company that's built its entire business on repeat clients and referrals.
